Jean-Ralphio is the Amazing Spider-man
A genius Spidey/Parks and Rec mash-up.
rejectedjokes:
The wonderful people at CollegeHumor edited this together at breakneck speed after so many people tweeted/posted about Jean-Ralphio kinda looking like the Amazing Spider-man. To those editors (especially Sam Jacobson, I know it was you, you sly dog) I say kudos and thank you. To everyone else I say enjoy the trailer now as it will inevitably...

I assume she’ll blast onto the grounds on her Triumph TR5 having just bested the shark in Downton Pond.

– Hugh Jackman re: Wolverine 2 via Vulture (via popculturebrain)
So this really is happening? As an Aussie, I obviously love Jackman. Aronofsky is one of my favourite directors, and together they made The Fountain, which I think was great even if it ended up a lot different from what Aronofsky...
Let Me In review
Breathe a sigh of relief, internet. Let Me In, US director Matt Reeves’ version of critically-acclaimed Swedish film Let the Right One In is every bit as brilliant as its foreign cousin.
When it was announced in 2009 that Reeves, best known for the polarising monster hit Cloverfield, would direct a version of the film set in the US, there was an instant backlash on the net. The Swedish...
Fox Offers Wolverine 2 to Darren Aronofsky -... →
There’s no way Aronofsky will end up making Wolverine 2, but I’m not against the idea. His name has been attached to projects like Robocop, so he’s not afraid to approach existing properties. He’s a visionary film-maker who has yet to put a foot wrong, so I say go for it.
However, I don’t think that’s the biggest news here. It’s also mentioned that Ben...

Big Rumor: Jamie Bell Cast in Spider-Man Reboot |... →
popculturebrain:
The site Bleeding Cool is reporting that multiple sources have told them that actor Jamie Bell has been tapped to star in Sony’s reboot of Spider-Man, directed by Marc Webb. If you’ll recall, he was on the shortlist reported a couple weeks ago. (Along with Andrew Garfield; Alden Ehrenreich; Frank Dillane; and Josh Hutcherson.)
My least favourite choice from that shortlist....

movienewsdaily:
This sucks. There aren’t many directors who can make a film that would fit with the world Jackson created while still bringing something of themselves to it. Be interesting to see which names pop up now.
Bummer.

MOVIE NEWS DAILY: Paper Man trailer →
I don’t get why more people aren’t obsessed with Ryan Reynolds. He’s been on the verge of huge for years, but never quite seems to cross over. Maybe Green Lantern will push him into the stratosphere, but before then, see him as a completely different superhero in Paper Man.
The film stars…

Not enough Shia in this trailer, but fair play - Gekko is obviously the better connection to the first flick. Not the tone I thought they’d be going for, either. Still, I like it.
SUNDANCE EXCLUSIVE: Check Out Ryan Reynolds In The... →
Ryan Reynolds should be the biggest star on the planet. Can’t wait until he is.
This flick looks interesting. Reynolds is a contractor working in Iraq who is taken prisoner and trapped in a coffin underground with a phone and a torch. His captors want a million dollars or Reynolds is left to die.
Can Reynolds carry an entire film for 90 minutes? Sure he can.
Family outrage at film Kick Ass violence and... →
Family groups in Oz are upset about Kick Ass, the movie directed by Matt Vaughn (Layer Cake, Stardust)based on the comic by Mark Millar and John Romita Jr about a kid (Aaron Johnson) who takes up superheroing despite having no powers.
They’re complaining about the red band trailer that focuses on Hit Girl (Chloe Moretz), a 12-year-old raised by her superhero dad (Nic Cage) to follow in his...

Brilliant. Follow the link through because that whole interview is golden. Facebook owns you. I like it.

Sony now going ahead with a script that puts Pete back in high school.
Spider-Man 3 was a mess, but 1 and 2 are fantastic. Especially 2. This is probably for the best, and good on Sam Raimi for walking away, but I’m still sad.

February 2010: Vanessa Grigoriadis on Twitter |... →
Vanity Fair’s incredibly condescending article about women who use Twitter, including actress/writer/producer Felicia Day, online strategist Amy Jo Martin, and publicist Sarah Evans. Way to belittle the acheivements of some very successful women, Vanessa.
See Felicia’s response to this article here.
Sony announces 3D TV →
From CNet: “Sony announced two new content deals at the event: the company would be working with ESPN to produce a new dedicated “ESPN 3D” channel, and also producing a “3D cable network” partnering with IMAX and Discovery.”
Live sport in 3D could be pretty damn interesting, I reckon, but will it become common place in lounge rooms across Australia? Having to...
