Worst to best Stephen King movies -
Total Film starts with the worst and ends with the best Stephen King movies.
I’ll cop that some of them had no input from King, just featured his characters (like the Children of the Corn sequels) and the list sneaks in a few of the great mini-series adaptations (though ignores the just so-so ones, which are better than the worst movies).
The number one film (I won’t spoil it, go check it out) is contentious. Overall, great list though.
So Walter Salles’ adaptation of Jack Kerouac’s On the Road finally has a trailer. My thoughts on this soon. For now, check it out at Slashfilm.
A conversation between Courtney Love and Stevie Nicks.
Celebrities should interview celebrities more often. There’s no way a journalist would get as much out of Nicks as Love does, and the Fleetwood Mac singer has been pretty open about the drugs and sex. This is from the October 1997 issue of Spin magazine. Full transcript available here.
TRUE FAN.

Thinking about skipping Episode 1 in 3D this weekend? It’s Star Wars! Suck it up and cop Jar Jar for these reasons:
1. LIAM NEESON AS QUI-GON JINN

The ambiguities in this character make him the most interesting Jedi we’ve seen. He’s in tune with The Force in a way the other Jedi aren’t and he manipulates situations to his advantage in ways that are self-serving. Sadly, the film doesn’t explore this as much as it should, but Neeson’s performance is the solid core of Ep 1.
10 Reasons to love Jar Jar Binks -
From Sydney news website smh.com.au comes this debatable list of reasons why Jar Jar Binks, probably the most reviled character in recent cinema, isn’t so bad. It’s a sucky list clearly intended to generate some hits and comments. I’ve made my peace with Jar Jar, but this list just angers me.
A genius Spidey/Parks and Rec mash-up.
The wonderful people at CollegeHumor edited this together at breakneck speed after so many people tweeted/posted about Jean-Ralphio kinda looking like the Amazing Spider-man. To those editors (especially Sam Jacobson, I know it was you, you sly dog) I say kudos and thank you. To everyone else I say enjoy the trailer now as it will inevitably be taken down for breaking 1000 copyright laws.

Shirley MacLaine to Join 'Downton Abbey' | Variety -
I assume she’ll blast onto the grounds on her Triumph TR5 having just bested the shark in Downton Pond.

The two Stephens, Stephen Colbert and Stephen King. Perfect.
Whoever made this happen is a genius.

Now this I can get behind. Genius idea.

I think I’m going to keep the desktop as is for now. pacalin was right and also playsets are the coolest. And I can’t overlook the fact there’s about $8,000 worth of vinyl-caped Jawas in the picture.
This is one of the greatest things I’ve ever seen. My mission is to find either the Woman’s Day it first appeared in or a copy of Woman’s Day Book of Best-Loved Toys & Dolls that devotes almost 30 pages to this mother of all playsets. More info here.
Great find retrostarwars.

This is Wolverine. This is not Popeye. He’s kind of dark. But, you know, this is a change of pace. Chris McQuarrie, who wrote The Usual Suspects, has written the script, so that’ll give you a good clue. [Aronofsky’s] going to make it fantastic. There’s going to be some meat on the bones. There will be something to think about as you leave the theater, for sure. —
Hugh Jackman re: Wolverine 2 via Vulture (via popculturebrain)
So this really is happening? As an Aussie, I obviously love Jackman. Aronofsky is one of my favourite directors, and together they made The Fountain, which I think was great even if it ended up a lot different from what Aronofsky originally envisaged.
My point: Wolverine 2 has the potential to be the greatest superhero movie of all time.
