There’s no way Aronofsky will end up making Wolverine 2, but I’m not against the idea. His name has been attached to projects like Robocop, so he’s not afraid to approach existing properties. He’s a visionary film-maker who has yet to put a foot wrong, so I say go for it.
However, I don’t think that’s the biggest news here. It’s also mentioned that Ben Affleck was offered the director’s chair on the new Christopher Nolan produced Superman, but he passed it up (Affleck has also played Superman. Well, he played actor George Reeves in Hollywoodland (2006). Reeves played Superman in the ’50s on TV). Now that they’ve gone with Zack Snyder, we can only imagine what an Affleck directed Supes could have been. I’m sure it would have been a world away from what Snyder will deliver.
