From CNet: “Sony announced two new content deals at the event: the company would be working with ESPN to produce a new dedicated “ESPN 3D” channel, and also producing a “3D cable network” partnering with IMAX and Discovery.”

Live sport in 3D could be pretty damn interesting, I reckon, but will it become common place in lounge rooms across Australia? Having to wear those glasses at home is kinda lame.

We’ll see how it goes this year when ESPN (US only, as far as I can tell) broadcast live coverage of selected FIFA 2010 World Cup matches in 3D.
